Day 01Marrakech · Ait Ben Haddou · Boumalne Dades
Leave your riad or hotel in Marrakech and climb into the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Continue to the UNESCO-listed ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, whose earthen architecture has appeared in many films. After lunch, travel past Ouarzazate, the Valley of Roses, and small Amazigh villages before spending the night in Boumalne Dades.
Day 02Dades Gorges · Todgha Gorges · Ramlia
Follow the dramatic Dades Valley toward the narrow walls of Todgha Gorge. Beyond Alnif, the route turns off-road across the desert toward Ramlia, a secluded oasis village in southeastern Morocco. Pause for a picnic along the way, meet local residents on arrival, and spend the night in a small guesthouse.
Day 03Ramlia · Khamlia · Merzouga
Travel through open desert landscapes toward Merzouga. Stop in Khamlia to experience its Gnawa musical tradition and enjoy lunch locally. Later, set out by camel across the dunes of Erg Chebbi. Dinner, traditional music, and a night in a comfortable desert camp complete the day.
Day 04Merzouga · Ziz Valley · Ifrane · Fes
Rise early for sunrise over the dunes, then return for breakfast and time to freshen up. The northbound journey passes through Erfoud, Errachidia, the Ziz Valley, Midelt, the cedar forests near Azrou, and Ifrane before arriving at your riad or hotel in Fes.
